Psychotherapy in Greenwich
Life can be challenging at times. Many people experience emotional difficulties at some point in their lives. It is often hard to understand the root of one's own pain. Putting words to this experience, in a safe space, offers a powerful way to become unstuck and find an alternative and new path.
Sometimes, when something is very painful you may find yourself trying to ignore it; a kind of “out of sight-out of mind” approach. Sometimes burying our difficulties so effectively, that we end up losing sight of them. However, the emotional residue still remains in the back of our minds. This is why painful experiences in the past, including your childhood, can continue to affect the way you feel and behave at the moment and may result in you repeating the same pattern of behaviour which doesn’t seem to help you-so you end up feeling stuck. It might be easier for you to think of it as an early life yet invisible emotional template that still impacts on you & your relationships in your present life.
Psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapy can help you with emotional and relationship problems.
My approach is designed to help you explore your emotional life, the way that you relate to yourself and others as well as feelings that you may or may not be aware of and don’t yet fully understand the impact these feelings have on your emotional life & on your relationships. I won’t tell you what to do or give advice, but will help you to make your own creative choices.
